Youth and Beginning Bell and Vocal Choirs

The Youth Bell and Vocal Choirs practice on the 2nd. and 4th. Sundays of the month from 11:30-1:30 pm. Lunch is provided for the youth at the Rise of Worship. The Youth Bell Choir teaches the basics of music through the use of different colored chimes. Children as young as three years old are provided an opportunity to share Christ’s love through music. The bell choir occasionally performs during the Worship Services. There is also a “Beginning bell and vocal choir”, designed for members of all ages who want to learn handbells and chimes. Please call the church office if you are interested in participating in the choir.

Adult Vocal Choir

The First Friends Meeting adult choir is a traditional choir that sings an anthem each Sunday from September thru May, then takes the summer off. Special music is encouraged from whoever would like to “showcase” their talents and share them with the meeting. We practice on Wednesday from 7:30-8:30 p.m. This is an all-volunteer choir (meaning NO try-outs), with members of all ages. We do a variety of styles of music and try to focus on “worshipful” music. Anyone who loves to sing is encouraged to join us.

First Friends Ringers

First Friends Bell Choir is an instrumental praise group. We have 3 octaves of handbells and chimes, and we have been participating in the Kokomo Handbell Festival for the last several years. We practice once a week on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., for one hour. We ring, we laugh, we have fellowship, AND we sometimes even learn something! New members are always encouraged (especially men, to play the large bells), and experience or music knowledge is not necessary.

Women’s Meetup (Joy Circle)

Joy Circle is the United Society of Friends Women who gather once a month at First Friends in the Fellowship Hall. They educate themselves and promote Christian service projects. This group welcomes all women. Please call the office for more information.

Currently, Joy Circle members often make flannel and fleece blankets for residents of Open Arms women’s and children’s shelter,

Howard Haven, Coordinated Assistance Ministries (CAM), and the Rescue Mission.

Men’s Meetup (Quaker Men)

Quaker Men is a gathering of area Friends men who meet monthly for fellowship and to organize home missions strategies and projects. They gather for breakfast the first Saturday of each month at 8AM at the Korner Kitchen South. Please call the office to connect with a member and get more information on Quaker Men.
